Le terme pourrait aussi être restitué "κομποθηλαία" (cf. Liddell-Scott), "ceinture", mais semble plus rare (cf. Koukoules, Ph., Θεσσαλονίκης Ευσταθίου, Τά Λαογραφικά, Athènes 1950, 1.112).
